People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway!
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind to them anyway!
If you are successful, you'll win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway!
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway!
What you spent years building, someone will destroy overnight;
Build anyway!
If you find serenity and happiness, they will be jealous;
Be happy anyway!
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway!
Give the world the best you have, and it'll never be enough;
Give the world your best anyway!
You see in the final analysis, it is between you and God,
Never between you and them anyway!

Haven't wrote a decent blog in ages, so I thought I might attempt one now. School has started, but the schedule has been absolutely sluggish and slack except for the first few days where there was a huge practical. I've never had so little work to do since I came to medical school! Anyway, exam results were good enough for me, I got passes for all 3 papers which is the absolute limit you can score in medicine since u either pass or fail or borderline pass or borderline fail. That's why the pass grade is actually 60% instead of the 50%, which will get you only a borderline pass here. This is good because it has shown me 2 things:
1.Method of studying is good, it is working well.
2.Amount of effort put in is also right, not too little.
Rather than me not making the grade, which will mean a fundamental error and I'd have to re-think the entire strategy. That would be horrendous. So yeah, I'll just continue with what I'm doing and I should survive finals.
Meantime, I've learnt to cook papadums with microwave! and they're really yummy as well! You can't taste the difference at all! Healthier as well, since no oil means no fats and no problems with the ulcers since it's the dirt and stuff in the oil that can potentially cause an ulcer. There has also been a nice show on TV here called Medical Rookies. It's sometimes about interns sometimes about specialist trainee. Very interesting. One thing the specialist trainee said last week I'll remember for the rest of my life:"When you first see a patient and you eventually have to operate on them, knowing that it is a high risk operation, it is difficult. Because when you get to know the patient better, you start to like them, you start to feel for them and you're afraid then that they will die on your table. This feeling will never go away because it is part of being a doctor. The day that it does is the day you should stop working as a doctor because you can no longer feel for your patients." Just some food for thought, and something for me to remember for the rest of my life, especially if I become a cardio surgeon (she is a GIT surgeon).....
