so irritating! i hate to do all these admin stuff! grrr.... so many admin to sort out.... first i gotta chase my housing agent to confirm contract renewal, then i need to follow-up on all the insurance stuff... and car registration.... apparently the insurance and car rego will follow me up, that is, they'll sent a letter to me reminding me to renew... thank god for that... but top priority is the house first, then i'll chase the insurances.... car rego wait for them to chase me....=S irritating....

back in adel. my study room and bedroom is actually cool in spite of the scorching heat outside! lucky man, the 2 rooms i spend the most time in is out of the heat. think it's cos there's no direct sunlight entering the rooms and also cos of the brickwalls....=) anyway, the area around my house is in lockdown this weekend and prob next weekend or something (i think). there's a cycling race going on just outside my doorstep and there's going to be a car race right at my doorstep as well....=S oh well, lucky it's early in the yr and not during the exam period.
anyway, i think i feel a lot better being back this time. like my psychologist told me, i must be able to see things as white and grey, not white and black....=) meaning: be able to see a good side in any situation which might seem unpleasant at first.... to my family: dun worry, i'll do all of u proud this yr and make the final exams. it's been a long tough road. 5 yrs has changed the way i see things and my mentality towards everything. no wonder they say med school can shape the person's personality and his practice for the rest of his life. (kenny kept saying my behaviour is more and more like a doc? dunno if that's true and i dunno wad he meant either....) the only thing i do realise is the way i see things has changed, i guess i'm not so naive or see things through rose-tinted glasses anymore. and being overseas has forced me to grow up too....
anyway mich, if ur reading this, i think u'll do well too. u noe i'm ur greatest fan yah? =) and if u do need anything, u noe how to get me. give me ur mailing address soon then i can mail the kit and CD down to u yah? guarantee u'll become proficient at path like the CD did for me when i was in the earlier yrs....=) there's actually a lot more i wanna say but not the time or place to lah.... so i'll save the rest for the rite time and place....;)

1. Will you come and follow me if I but call your name?
Will you go where you don't know and never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown? Will you let my name be known,
will you let my life be grown in you and you in me?
2. Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind and never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer in you and you in me?
3. Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free and never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean and do such as this unseen,
and admit to what I mean in you and you in me?
4. Will you love the "you" you hide if I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same?
Will you use the faith you've found to reshape the world around,
through my sight and touch and sound in you and you in me?
5. Lord your summons echoes true when you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you and never be the same.
In Your company I'll go where Your love and footsteps show.
Thus I'll move and live and grow in you and you in me.
nice song, and also food for thought....

Your Score: The Honest Soul.
You scored 0 Extroversion, 6 Sensitivity, and 20 Openness!
You are a talkative, open kind of person. You wear your heart on your sleeve, and you trust people not to break it. In a way, you are as honest and trusting as a child. You are comfortable with who you are and have a strong sense of self, but you are also a little sensitive. Hurtful remarks, especially from people whose opinion you value, have the power to wound you terribly.
You tend to be open about your thoughts and opinions, and you find it difficult to hide your emotions from people. You like to share your thoughts, opinions, and emotions with people, and to hear theirs in return. When someone disagrees with you or offends you, you will take them up on it, whether they are friends or strangers. You don't mind a friendly debate, but become upset when things get hostile. You wish that people wouldn't take everything so personally, but simply think calmly about things.
You have a close knit group of friends and family for whom you would sacrifice almost anything. You don't like big parties full of strangers - you would rather spend your time with the people whom you really care about. You need a private spot where you can retreat when the world gets to be too much, but you want to be able to emerge from your "den" and find your loved ones there to heap love and affection upon you.
Your daemon would represent your loving, open nature, and he or she would probably spend a lot of time encouraging you to be independent and to do the right thing.
Suggested forms: Dog, Otter, Marmoset, Saw-Whet Owl, Songbird, Chinchilla.

4 years going on 5 years since the day I entered med school. decided i should pen down some of my thoughts. i can say in that in the 6 years (eventually), boys/girls become man/woman. it teaches us to grow up, maybe even it forces us to grow up. i think it has also been a journey of self-discovery, you learn so much more about yourself than you ever imagined it will enable you to. i came in thinking i could spend hours and lotsa time listening to the stories of patients, but increasingly i see myself as a cut to the chase sort of doctor. not that i'm going to shoo you off or become super formal, i never believed in that. what i meant is that i will listen to the patients, but also i'll be the sort who try to keep them from being distracted (hmmm... easily distractable.... manic? =P) common opinion amongst the "pseudo-patients" i meet is that i'll make a good psychiatrist....=S that's not all a bad thing, it's one of those specialities i'm willing to think about, but for now it's still cardiology and mainstream medicine. i guess we've also matured in thought after going thru med school. i do remember the days as a first yr, young, excited, just like a kid.... now as a 5th yr analytical, thinking, but still always smiling (yes, i acknowledge it ok? so stop saying that i'm always smiling even on ward rds! wad u want me to do? cry? =S) i dun think i am as excitable as when i was in 1st yr anymore.... good thing cos i've learnt to keep my calm in situations where it's desperately needed.
beyond that, i think i've changed as a person as well. when i first went to australia, i was determined to stay there and start a new life there, but now i see the pros and cons of things, i learn to appreciate my country a lot more. although with its flaws, the aussie society is not flawless either. we're willing to work hard, we have the drive to succeed, whereas in aust, that is distinctly absent. big time. walking off the job at 3pm on friday for drinks, shutdown on public holidays and sometimes weekends, slow internet, slow response to everything as well, strikes.... we cannot afford all these. good thing there is easier life, although i wonder if this is necessarily always a good thing. also the people there seem to have more "social sense" as i would call it. they form queues at the bus stops and unlike s'poreans, dun push and shove to get up the bus/train. (btw, the bus/train system is cock up too, compared to efficient s'pore....) they dun need fines to motivate them and teach them how to behave. they just use social sense. but speaking of social sense, it's not that great there either, the drug and alcohol culture threatens to rip society apart. if u ask me, it is because of the lack of god in their lives. even when the world youth day cross came, all i saw was a bunch of old folks and maybe 50 youths. if it was in s'pore, we'll fill the indoor stadium easily. the only god in their lives is the god of alcohol. and they toast to him everyday. learning survival skills was one of the things as well. managing your own account, etc. cooking. i was thought to cook as a kid, but never needed to until i was there, cooking is in my blood, both parents and both grandparents can cook well, so i'm genetically well-endowed in that sense....=p and yes, it didn't take me too long to realise my genetic endowment: roti prata, friend oyster, stewed duck, steaks, curries, some of my own creations....=D the last thing i learnt really quickly is how to treasure my family. one of the things is that i miss them over there almost everyday, not just my parents, but my extended family as well. strangely enough, going overseas initially was some sort of escape route for me, but in the end, it turned out to be a learning experience. last of all, i learnt what it is to love. i think most of those who are close to me know most of the stories about this by now, so i shan't elaborate. so all in all, these years away had helped me to grow as a person more than anything else. and i'm glad for that chance....
