| You Are a Prophet Soul |
You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone. Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people. Sometimes this faith can lead to disappoinment in the long run. No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way.
You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle. Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings. A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning. You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer.
Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul |
PS: HY, I didn't noe we were THIS compatible! hahahahaha!! stole this off ur acct....=p

Merry Xmas everyone! Had dad's kampong friends over for lunch today.... they sat ard and talked till evening.... joined in the conversation for a while.... they were a fun bunch actually.... it's weird how they stuck together for so long, and as proven time and again, in times of need, they really did help each other. as real friends do. they talked about the old times and stuff.... i didn't noe dad and his twin were the chief party organisers/instigators! i heard about those parties but.... hmmm.... i always tot his twinnie was more wild then him in their childhood.... i wonder wad sort of stories i'll have to tell my kids.... will they even want to listen to them like i want to listen to dad's? how will their childhood be like?
4 years ago, around this time, i also remembered getting ready to ship out to aust, full of anticipation, ready to want to move there permanently..... how times have changed..... matter of fact now is, i am much more likely to return home than to stay there, i've seen enuff, thought about it a long long time and i dun see how i can live there for good. all the so called pros are traded off with even worse cons.... here's just a few:
1. Pro: democracy is alive compared to Singapore, you have your say, you do what you want, not in a sense a limited democracy in s'pore.... This argument is true, but sometimes after what I see, i agree that true democracy is not exactly the most practical of governances, and the s'pore system has it's strengths. like for example, protests and strikes are non-existent in s'pore cos of it, but take a look: can u imagine the entire MRT and buses grounding to a halt simply over a small feud over the pay or rights? it can happen in aust and it's extremely disruptive.... not in s'pore it doesn't.... and democracy, look at the aussies vote on NEWater, they simply call it reverse osmosis there. in one city which is experiencing a drought, they actually voted AGAINST it. can u imagine the stupidity of it all? they'd rather die of thirst, lose all the crops than use recycled water! thank god it doesn't happen in s'pore.... the govt just does it, and for our good too.... no setbacks due to irrational people deciding against something that could very well save their lives..... Oh and btw, democracy over there involves grown men behaving like small kids in parliament raising their voices screaming at each other and never getting much done, opposition opposing simply for the sake of opposing, not that the idea by the govt is bad..... well, 2 extremes: u choose.
Pro: Living environment and conditions are better. Truth? Bullshit. u pay higher income taxes for one. much higher. also u say in HDBs some people tend to be inconsiderate and pee in lifts etc? well, just thank god they dun burn down your house or spray paint all over it. happens over there. you say s'poreans cannot think. see above? that's REAL stupidity in action, not the fact that we're submissive to the will of govt, but i think it's more like we've been pampered by good governance mostly (dun get me wrong, not taking sides here, but so far the result is for all to see, a fishing village becoming one of the richest cities in asia. if there's no good governance, this is qute impossible).... so much so that we dun really need to think that hard anymore! yeah, the food is fresher and all that, true, but is that all that matters? the culture there involves lotsa drinking (alcohol, not water if u haven't realised) and BBQ-ing. i carn drink like them and feel really apart as a result.... is this the environment to bring up kids? getting them on alcohol early in their lives, allowing them to party their life away every weekend? i'd rather allow them to grow up here, maybe bad cos of over-competitiveness of society and stress levels, but hey, i'm pretty sure i can raise a kid to be at least upper/middle class rite? also all these competitiveness.... well, if u dun aspire to be at the very top.... i think it'll do better than getting them drunk with their mates all the time in aust..... environment therefore isn't that cool either after u live there a while, u see the real picture.
3. coming back well, i get my family, love them all, get to be a majority race, always cool. cos over in aust, although there might not be much open racism (strongly debatable), there's always hidden racial descrimination simply cos ur minority race. i dun think u'll get a so called equal opportunity with the caucasian aussies..... even though they claim there's laws against that, but if it's behind the scenes, u wun even know ur descriminated against, how to protest?
anyway, that's all for my rantings for now, s'pore seems the better choice at the moment to me....=)
on another note.... i miss her.... well, i noe ur not reading this cos i never gave u my blog URL in the first place. but it's strange.... every time i'm with u i feel so diff.... if u ask me if i wanna take this any further, i dunno.... i really would rather noe how u feel before i go even deeper into this.... i dun wanna assume anything, but ur a lovely gal.... someone i've always enjoyed being with and i dun wanna lose that either.... haiz.... see u this wed then.....=D

Anyway, celebrated my bday back here as i always wanted.... no biggy lah, just a bday meal with my parents..... thanks to all who bothered to wish me!! =) I can remember the first people cos they woke me up! hah.... u gals had the time advantage of being 3 hrs ahead of us, so it was Pip first, then Karen then Neha. I'm starting to think there's a conspiracy here: How did u gals manage to message me 5 mins after each other???? And u 3 are all at home! Ok, next few up.... YY, I'm surprised u even knew, but thanks anyway! Serena, thanks babe, ur the best! *hugs* Oh yes, Kenny!!!! but u were early lor, the day before....=p Mich was next *hugs* thks babe! then i got sprung.... a bday party at my aunt's house!!! hahahaha.... the first time eva i had a bday party for me!!! thanks for making it the 1st ever and something i'll remember.... thks guys/gals! btw, this is long long overdue lah.... like wks ago....=p
Next.... Results: Yes yes, I survived.... like dad said, looking at my mid yrs, it's going to take a lot of damage to fail me if it happens at all.... not expecting to, but was anxious anyway....=S Halfway done.... looking back at the day I first got into med sch as a bright eyed yr 1..... so much has changed.... they say your education in med sch will influence your personality and your practice.... maybe it's half true, but i noe i've surely changed over the yrs. when i first came in, i had this idealistic mentality that we could do everything and anything for everyone.... love was sufficient.... then yr 2: the disasterous year, less said the better, just thank god i survived.... but now, i look at myself.... one thing hasn't changed: i'm still as enthusiatic and hyped about med as ever.... will this ever change? i dunno.... probably never.... i used to feel sad if a patient has a poor outcome or has a poor socio-economic status..... nowadays? i dun think i feel anymore.... my mind straight shifts into "wad can i do for this person?" and "how can i help him to make his world a better place?" but i guess the so-called pity (or is it?) is lost.... i still empathise with them trust me, i've never lost that and in fact i think that's my strength in practice.... so much so my tutor thinks i will make a good psych( wad the.... me? a psych? hmmmmm).... i've had patients cry on me, i've been able to extract their deepest secrets, their sufferings their emotions.... last of all, like with all things else with time, i've learnt to be more confident.... i think i've been more confident in dealing with patients, more confident in making the calls.... that comes with time i guess..... also had the first patient die on me a few wks ago.... wasn't in hospital, more of in church.... with no docs or nurses ard, i'm in charge....=S passed away in hospital i was told.... could tell the prognosis was very poor when he was in my care.... kinda concerning.... not helped by the ambulance taking 25 mins to come when i needed them here in 15!!! stupid..... but strangely, i tot i would have panicked in that situation, instead a surprising calm rushed over me, straightaway the mind went to work securing the various vitals of the patient..... couldn't sleep very well that night, but eventually told myself i tried my best, i did everything i could for him.... it is in the hands of my master if he wanted to call him home.....
Watched the nativity today.... very highly recommended.... just a few bits on it.... one thing mary asked elizabeth which struck me and i think almost all of us are asking the same thing. "Why did God choose me? I'm nothing.... " u might not have realised it at first, but think carefully.... isn't it something all of us are asking? for me, why did god choose me to this profession? This huge responsibility of caring, of loving.... but look: it is a call.... he has chosen me to be his hands, to heal as he would and to love as he would.... remember that always.... i'm not merely a doc, but a servant of christ too..... remember the story, "when i was sick and lonely, u visited me..... for whatever you do to the least of my brothers, u did it to me....." that is what i always keep in mind when i'm out there.... i try to bring a little comfort to their lives..... another striking thing was the gift.... each of us have a gift, we just need to find it.... kinda overused i guess, but it really does hold true.....
anyway, that's all for now.... long post.... hah, slowly read, cos it might be a while before i post anything! =D
