People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway!
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;
Be kind to them anyway!
If you are successful, you'll win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway!
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway!
What you spent years building, someone will destroy overnight;
Build anyway!
If you find serenity and happiness, they will be jealous;
Be happy anyway!
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway!
Give the world the best you have, and it'll never be enough;
Give the world your best anyway!
You see in the final analysis, it is between you and God,
Never between you and them anyway!

Although I know that I may have lost forever the woman I love,
I must try to enjoy all the graces that God has given me today.
Grace cannot be hoarded.
There are no banks where it can be deposited to be used when I feel more at peace with myself.
If I do not make full use of these blessings, I will lose them forever.
God knows that we are the artists of life.
One day, he gives us a hammer to make sculptures,
another day he gives us brushes and paints with which to make a picture,
or a paper and a pencil to write with.
But you cannot make a painting with a hammer, or a sculpture with a paintbrush.
Therefore however difficult it may be, I must accept today's small blessings,
even if they seem like curses because I am suffering and it's a beautiful day,
the sun is shining, and the children are singing in the streets.
This is the only way I will manage to leave my pain behind and re-build my life.
This came out of a book I was reading. Even though I may not have lost her yet, this paragraphs truly touched me deeply. Nuff said.

"Don't be afraid to dream; Love has its will....
Take up your burden now, walk 'til you find
Just what the journey means; walk while there's time.
Food for the journey will answer your need.
Don't be afraid to walk; love, my love will lead....
Share with your people that love has its will."
These are just fragments of a hymn in church the other day which really touched me once again because sometimes that is what my life has been. Don't be afraid to dream, love has it's will.... kinda sums it up back then and now as well. The journey has made me stronger each and every day. It has shaped me like a potter to a clay. Some of my friends comment, one of which is my former teacher back in school is that I'm like a 30 year old man trapped in a 22 year old's body: My age is not an accurate reflection of my mentality. I guess when you have to overcome a fair bit in life to get to where I am, it makes you grow up really fast. I won't say I've been through more than some others. I'm lucky I have a great family who supports me amongst other stuff. Some people just don't have anything and their life is so messed up that they simply give up.
The journey thus far this year has been a burden in a sense, but like I said in one of my previous entries, praise the Lord for He knows. He has never made my cross too heavy to bear. It has been trying at times, I have broken down at times and He knows. He wants me to grow in both in the spirit and the mind. It is human that we need adversities to learn and to grow. All I can try to do is to let His love lead me and to live my life of love. It's been painful in this aspect because I have loved, I truly have tried my best to love with all my heart and soul, but sometimes I want to be loved as well. I have given so much but yet I have gotten nothing. I know this sounds kinda selfish but I can't help it. I feel so unloved sometimes.... it's like nobody cares if I were to die tomorrow.... and no, don't worry, I'm not suicidal, it's just a figure of speech.
"Lord, grant that I may never seek so much to be loved as to love with all my heart and soul."

"God never takes back his gifts or revokes his choice."
I feel so unworthy of my vocation in life. I know my faults and wish I can be a better person, but I fail because of my human nature. Lord, you have chosen me, in spite of my weakness and my failings. You provided me with everything I need to succeed: focus, intelligence, determination, luck, everything. I will serve you all of my days, to make life better for each and every patient that I see, may I remember for whatever I do for them, I did it for You and for Your Glory. Lord, the ride recently has been stormy, I pray you strengthen my faith in you that I may place everything in your care. I pray also for perseverence to ride through the storm. Help me not to lose my patience with others, no matter how difficult they may be. Lord, in all this, I know you are there, you know my worries and my troubles. Lord, grant me strength....

When evening came, he was there alone, while the boat, by now far out on the lake, was battling with a heavy sea, for there was a headwind. In the fourth watch of the night he went towards them walking on the lake, and when the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It is a ghost" they said, and cried out in fear. But at once, Jesus called out to them saying, "Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid." It was Peter who answered. "Lord, if it is you, tell me to come to you across the water." "Come." Jesus said. Then Peter got out of the boat and started walking to Jesus across the water, but as soon as he felt the force of the wind, he took fright and began to sink. "Lord! Save me!" He cried. Jesus put out his hand at once and held him. "Man of little faith, why did you doubt?"
My thoughts? I can relate to this story easily. The storm is like life itself, filled with trials and tribulations, sickness, disappointment, broken hearts and spirits. The Lord sees it all, he calls out to us "Courage! It is I! Do not be afraid." We see him and we try to surrender to him like Peter did. but we often fail when we see the turmoil around us, in our hearts, our spirits. We begin to lose faith and fumble, sinking in desparity of life. But in spite of our lack of faith, the Lord hears our cry and saves us. Indeed, we are men of little faith, often doubting our faith.
Lord, grant me the faith to see beyond the storm and to trust in you. Help me to know that there is nothing in this world that you and I cannot overcome together. Help me not to sink into desparity, to ever think that there is no hope. For there are 3 things that will endure, Faith, Hope and Love. Amen.
